A Studio Tour of Germany

Bonn, Germany

The celebration of the Day of German Unity is hosted by different cities each year. This year, the celebration took place in Bonn. So, many people descended upon the city to participate in the festivities.

I travelled from Cologne to Bonn by Deutsche Bahn (the German Rail system) to meet up with Jonas Coch, a freelance front-end designer and developer, living in Bonn, and a member of the German Symphony Developers Network, who organized the Symposium. We navigated the crowds to visit the birthplace of Beethoven, view the exhibits, witness the entertainments and parades, and stroll along the banks of the Rhine River.

We talked of new ways of using Symphony, involving event chaining, touch screen interfaces and mobile devices. As Symphony working group members, we discussed the Symposium, the community and the new extensions, including the Static Content extension that Jonas himself had proposed as one approach for dealing with static pages.
