Domain7 Manifesto

Do•mainnoun. A sphere of knowledge, influence, or activity.
Se•vennoun. A cardinal number, often associated with perfection.

This is a declaration of Domain7’s approach to business and life—a collection of founding principles upon which we make decisions. Our client interactions, project work and team life always come down to these seven principles.

  1. Humans first

    We believe the world is made better when our humanity is not just acknowledged, but featured. We believe that great projects and strong culture happen when teammates and clients alike bring their true selves to work.

  2. Every company and individual has the potential to be great

    We won’t get all motivational and use words like “destiny” here, but we really believe in our clients and their huge potential. Through our work, we aim to help businesses and individuals be authentically themselves on the web, and in doing so, become great.

  3. The web is a powerful force for transformation

    The web has inspired revolutions and uprisings, sparked connections and intimacy, but can also be a scary place for some. We wield this force with care and respect, knowing its full power, and always using it for good.

  4. Technology can—and will—be beautiful

    A craftsman takes raw materials and makes them beautiful. In the same way, a skilled team can turn systems and technologies into elegant, delightful experiences.

  5. We are people-powered

    Processes don’t lead people—people do. We foster a strong sense of ownership at Domain7, where individuals are encouraged to step up and lead using their skills and personal influence. Progress and success come from a team that is empowered, not embroiled in bureaucracy.

  6. We aim to make fans and delight customers

    It’s our job to turn our clients into heroes. We want to make them look good for their customers, boards or bosses, and we want to make their lives easier. At the end of the day, our client experiences should be just as good as our end products.

  7. We always start with why

    We believe knowing one’s purpose creates the strongest results. We can craft great tools, interesting places and meaningful stories, but only when we understand the motivation at the very core. To build any human-centered experience, we always start by asking why.
