Senior Developer and Architect

As a Senior Developer and Architect, Orion gets to imagine how complex systems work together to do great things on the web. He works with system developers and front end developers to turn those ideas into a reality.

Orion has been programming since high school, but took it to a deeper level with a BSc in Computing Science from Trinity Western University. Since then he’s built up more than a decade of industry experience in languages like C#, PHP, Java, and Javascript. His “undiagnosed OCD” drives him to make systems that are understandable, both to the programmer and the consumer. He loves finding elegant solutions to complex problems—“seeing the pieces come together, knowing how much work each one is...it's like watching a Space Shuttle launch,” he says.

And speaking of space shuttles, Orion has a lifelong fascination with systems: irrigation, marble tracks, steam engines, tinker toys, you name it. He’s been able to see some this joy passed on to his Lego-addicted son. When he’s not working, there's nobody he’d rather spend time with than his wife, sons and daughter.
